Baseball Recap: Calhoun Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Orangeburg Prep last Wednesday, Calhoun Academy came back down to earth. The Cavaliers lost 8-1 to the Indians on Thursday. The Cavaliers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 11-3.

Calhoun Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colt Layton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Calhoun Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7. As for Orangeburg Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Calhoun Academy will challenge King's Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orangeburg Prep, they will face off against St. John's Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
