            Baseball Recap: Whitko Wildcats vs. Northfield Norsemen        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Argos  on Tuesday, Whitko came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell  6-3 to the Northfield Norsemen on Wednesday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Norsemen apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in May of 2024.

 Daton Day spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned  (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Riley Harman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with one  home run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ethen Morris, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Whitko's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Northfield, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 5-12.
 Whitko didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  21-7  win against Elwood on the 10th. As for Northfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  12-9  victory against Mississinewa on the 10th.
