Baseball Recap: Legacy Has No Trouble Against Regis Jesuit

Legacy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Regis Jesuit on Saturday. The Lightning put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 10-2 victory. The Lightning might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.

Max Harbridge looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Braidon Brown and KC Reiser did most of the damage at the plate: Brown went 3-for-4 with one home run, while Reiser went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Reiser has become a key player for Legacy: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Jason Olsen was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Legacy lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Legacy moved to 12-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Regis Jesuit, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Legacy will square off against Frederick at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lightning are facing the Golden Eagles at the right time seeing as the Golden Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Regis Jesuit, they will face off against Rock Canyon at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.11 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
