Softball Recap: East Dubuque Comes Up Short

East Dubuque was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-5 to the Jefferson J-Hawks.

Katie Welp and Natalie Husemann stepped up to the plate in a big way. Welp went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one triple, while Husemann scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Gracie Hilby, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

East Dubuque's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.

East Dubuque wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Galena on the 8th. As for Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Belvidere North at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th.
