Soccer Game Preview: Dobson vs. Gila Ridge

The Dobson Mustangs and the Gila Ridge Hawks will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Dobson headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Apollo let them put that streak behind them. Dobson's defense stepped up to hand Apollo an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. It was an even better day for Alexa Zambrano as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Gila Ridge won against Holtville on Saturday with eight goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Wednesday. Everything went Gila Ridge's way against West Point as Gila Ridge made off with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won four games by seven goals or more so far this season.

Dobson now has a winning record of 3-2-2. As for Gila Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
