Fans got a thrill when Javone Morgan and Aaron Galvan connected against Carter. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in San Andreas this season.
San Gorgonio added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating San Bernardino, 64-0. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Morgan threw for 330 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 18-32 with 1 interception.
Sterron Strother was a force in the backfield as Pacific lost to Arroyo Valley.
Galvan was the best wideout in the league this week as Rialto fell to the Lions. Galvan tallied 3 receptions for 96 yards. Jamelle Isaac helped Rialto's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 87 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Morgan of the Knights is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,810. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Keon Stephens. The San Bernardino star has 34 catches for 572 yards.
The top two teams in San Andreas will face off this week when first place San Gorgonio takes on second place Carter. Last week, San Gorgonio beat the Cardinals, while Carter topped Rialto.
Entering into this week's contest against the Pirates, Morgan is short just 190 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Alex Pierce's team takes on Ron Gueringer's team. The Lions have allowed 163 points this season, while the Spartans have given up 131. Carter allowed 34 points last week as it beat the Knights.
The Lions scaled the state rankings by moving to 233 from 266 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Carter climbed the ranks as a result of topping Rialto 40-34.
