Recap: Durango Demons vs. Grand Junction Central Warriors
It was a good run, but the Durango Demons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 52-33 to Grand Junction Central. Durango was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grand Junction Central apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Durango still got an impressive performance from Mariah Maestas, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Durango's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-6. As for Grand Junction Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Grand Junction the next time they take the court. Durango will head out to face Grand Junction at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Grand Junction Central will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
