Basketball Recap: Traders Point Christian Takes a Loss

Traders Point Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-66 heartbreaker at the hands of Irvington Preparatory Academy. Even though they lost, the Knights' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.8 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Traders Point Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gage Fisher, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Quentin Jones was another key player, going 7-for-15 on his way to 19 points.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xavier Page led the charge by dropping a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Starks, who went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and eight boards.

Traders Point Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-16.

Traders Point Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-40 defeat against Phalen Leadership Academy on the 20th. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-21 loss against Park Tudor on the 21st.
