Basketball Recap: Mendenhall Comes Up Short

Mendenhall lost against Quitman on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mendenhall Tigers fell to the Quitman Panthers 40-34.

KIARRA THOMPSON had an outrageously good game for Quitman as she went 10 for 14 on her way to 24 points and six blocks. Those 24 points gave THOMPSON a new career-high. Another player making a difference was AIYANNA DEAR, who posted five points along with six assists and six steals.

Mendenhall's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Quitman, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mendenhall Tigers take on the Forest Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quitman, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Northeast Jones at 6:00 p.m. Quitman is facing Northeast Jones at the right time seeing as Northeast Jones is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
