Football Recap: Lake Dallas Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lake Dallas extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-1. They strolled past the Lake Worth Bullfrogs with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Bullfrogs are ranked 554th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gavin Young was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 124 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Lake Dallas didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Lake Worth to a completion percentage of just 43.8%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Dj Hicks and Sebastian Acosta, who each logged one passes deflected. Lake Dallas wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 80%.

As for Lake Worth, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. On the bright side, the 14- point performance marked their highest-scoring match to date.

Although Lake Worth took the loss, they still got scores from McTobia Pilot Jr. and Jakobe Smith.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Dallas will take on Paris at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Falcons their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Lake Worth, they will head out on the road to take on Graham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
