Preview: S & S Consolidated Rams vs. Pilot Point Bearcats
S & S Consolidated has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Pilot Point Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, S & S Consolidated was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 33-32 to Paradise. S & S Consolidated has struggled against Paradise recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Pilot Point's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 15th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Whitesboro, falling 58-24. While losing is never fun, Pilot Point can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1494th, while Whitesboro is ranked 663rd).
S & S Consolidated has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season. As for Pilot Point, they dropped their record down to 1-22 with that loss, which was their 22nd straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for S & S Consolidated against Pilot Point in their previous matchup on January 2nd as the team secured a 92-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for S & S Consolidated since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
