Softball Recap: Spring Hill Takes a Loss

Spring Hill extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 31 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-14. They came up short against the Independence Eagles, falling 16-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 19-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Independence, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-13 record this season. Considering they have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Independence's part, Piper Johnson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. What's more, Johnson posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. Stella Weaver was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Spring Hill will head out on the road to challenge Fairview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
