Softball Game Preview: Cornwall Central Dragons vs. Middletown Middie Bears

The Cornwall Central Dragons will venture away from home to take on the Middletown Middie Bears at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Cornwall Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Kingston on Friday. They lost 9-1 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-3 to Newburgh Free Academy.

Alissandra Soto was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Gabriella Diaz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Cornwall Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Middletown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
