Softball Recap: Long Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Long nor Houston Academy made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Rebels fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 12-11. The Rebels have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Long got a massive performance out of Kaylie Foster, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Cordell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Long's record now sits at 13-11. As for Houston Academy, they pushed their record up to 25-6 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long will take on Ashford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Houston Academy, they will face off against Kinston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
