Softball Game Preview: Fallston Cougars vs. Aberdeen Eagles

The Fallston Cougars will head out to face off against the Aberdeen Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Fallston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Fallston faced off against Bel Air on Wednesday. The Cougars came up short against the Bobcats, falling 14-4. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Fallston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Pfaff, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Pfaff has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. May Ambrose also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 27-21 to Elkton. On the bright side, the 21- run effort marked the Eagles' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Aberdeen's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Fallston, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 10-3.

Fallston got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Aberdeen by a conclusive 22-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
