Basketball Recap: Valor Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to 59 points the game before, Valor Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 89-25 loss at the hands of the Bishop Alemany Warriors. The loss continues a trend for Valor Academy in their matchups with Bishop Alemany: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, Valor Academy still got an impressive performance from Maliqui Van Arsdale, who posted 14 points and six boards. Van Arsdale continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Valor Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Bishop Alemany, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valor Academy will challenge Lake Balboa College Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bishop Alemany, they will square off against Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Notre Dame (SO) will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Bishop Alemany surely won't give up without a fight.
