Softball Recap: Citrus Hill Hawks vs. Lakeside Lancers
Citrus Hill extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 9-10 in the process. They fell 5-1 to the Lakeside Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, with their most recent loss being a 19-12 defeat back in April.
Citrus Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Valery Carreon, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
As for Lakeside, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.
On Lakeside's side, the team relied heavily on Reese Fisher, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Fisher a new career-high.
Looking ahead, Citrus Hill is taking a road trip to face off against Culver City at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Centaurs have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Lakeside, they will host Fontana at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
