Football Game Preview: Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights vs. Cascade Cadets

The Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights will face off against the Cascade Cadets at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Fort Wayne Bishop Luers sitting on five straight victories and Cascade on 14.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Knox 35-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Knights just coasted through the last quarter.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers found their leader in sophomore Terrance Epperson, who rushed for 177 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Epperson is becoming a predictor of the Knights' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brandon Gaither Ii, who rushed for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Cascade strolled past Gibson Southern with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 49-34.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers better keep an eye on Dayton Mink. He was instrumental in Cascade's win, rushing for 125 yards and three scores. That's the most rushing touchdowns Mink has posted since back in October. Brady Trebley also helped with two TDs in total.

Cascade was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 250 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Cascade didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Lucas Farmer led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' record is now 9-5. As for Cascade, their record now sits at 14-0.
