Softball Recap: Cole Takes a Loss

Cole and Cotulla squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Cole had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cowboys, falling 18-2. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Cowboys: they've now lost three in a row.

Cole saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katherine Zinnante, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Cole's defeat dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Cotulla, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cotulla beat Cole by a score of 12-2 later that day.
