Basketball Recap: Community School of Naples Takes a Loss

After flying high against North Port last Wednesday, Community School of Naples came back down to earth. The Community School of Naples Seahawks took a 75-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gateway Charter Griffins on Thursday. The Seahawks have struggled against the Griffins recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Community School of Naples lost, don't look at Brennan Ringhofer. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 16 en route to 23 points and five assists. Ringhofer's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was GeorGe Childs, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Community School of Naples smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Community School of Naples' loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Gateway Charter, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7.

Community School of Naples has already played their next contest, a 53-39 win against South Fort Myers on the 31st. As for Gateway Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-56 victory against Lake Wales on the 1st.
