Basketball Game Preview: Perrysburg Yellow Jackets vs. Central Catholic Fighting Irish

The Perrysburg Yellow Jackets will face off against the Central Catholic Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Perrysburg will be strutting in after a victory while Central Catholic will be coming in after a loss.

Perrysburg will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Napoleon, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Perrysburg walked away with a 48-39 win over Napoleon on Monday. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Wildcats are ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 63-49 fall against St. Mary's Prep.

Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Perrysburg, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-7.

Perrysburg was able to grind out a solid win over Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 54-45. Does Perrysburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
