Christian County won the last time they faced Muhlenberg County and things went their way on Monday too. The Colonels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Mustangs.

Jordan Turner spent all 11 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alondra Rodriguez, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Chloe Almy was another key player, going 2-for-6 with two runs and one RBI.

Christian County pushed their record up to 18-10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Muhlenberg County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10.

Looking ahead, Christian County will be playing at home against Calloway County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Muhlenberg County, they will head out on the road to square off against Logan County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.85 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
