The Riverdale Ridge Ravens will square off against the Prairie View Thunderhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverdale Ridge has four straight victories, Prairie View has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
If Riverdale Ridge beats Prairie View with 79 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Riverdale Ridge claimed a resounding 79-16 win over Northglenn. The Ravens have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.
Brihanna Crittendon was her usual excellent self, going 12 of 16 en route to 30 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Riverdale Ridge's points. Payton Meineke was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.
Riverdale Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Prairie View took a blow against Westminster on Thursday, falling 54-22.
Riverdale Ridge will have to contain Ava Campbell as she made an impact in Prairie View's last game. She posted six points.
Riverdale Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points per game. As for Prairie View, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Riverdale Ridge hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 67.4 points per game. It's a different story for Prairie View, though, as they've been averaging only 23.4 points. The only thing between Riverdale Ridge and another offensive beatdown is Prairie View. Will they be able to keep them contained?
