Basketball Game Preview: Maryville Red Rebels vs. Farragut Admirals

The Maryville Red Rebels are taking a road trip to take on the Farragut Admirals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Maryville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Maryville is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since December 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They breezed by West to the tune of 49-14. Given the Red Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Rebels are ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went Farragut's way against Hardin Valley Academy on Tuesday as Farragut made off with a 66-45 win. The Admirals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Farragut has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Maryville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Maryville came up short against Farragut in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 53-42. Can Maryville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
