Basketball Recap: Mckenzie's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

It was a good run, but McKenzie unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 71-57 bruising from the Jackson Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Eagles are ranked 67th).

McKenzie's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Jackson Christian, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKenzie will face off against Houston County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McKenzie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Houston County likes a good challenge. As for Jackson Christian, they will head out on the road to take on University School of Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
