Soccer Game Preview: North Central Texas Academy vs. Newman International Academy

The North Central Texas Academy Pioneers will challenge the Newman International Academy Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with North Central Texas Academy sitting on ten straight victories and Newman International Academy on three.

On Tuesday, North Central Texas Academy had just enough and edged Alvarado out 2-1. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Indians are ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Newman International Academy got the win against Village Tech on Saturday by a conclusive 6-2. It was an even better day for Josue Matos as he scored three goals for his team.

Newman International Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those six contests. As for North Central Texas Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

North Central Texas Academy took their victory against Newman International Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0.
