Football Recap: Nettleton Takes a Loss

Nettleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Aberdeen Bulldogs and fell 58-12. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 111th).

Although Nettleton took the loss, they still got scores from Cohen York and Travis Sullivan.

Even if they lost, Nettleton's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Nettleton's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Aberdeen, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nettleton will challenge Noxubee County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Aberdeen, they will take on Senatobia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 29.9 points per game this season.
