Preview: Seaside Seagulls vs. St. Helens Lions
After three games on the road, Seaside is heading back home. They will take on The St. Helens Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Seaside blew past Astoria, posting a 42-7 win on the road. That's two games straight that Seaside has won by exactly 35 points.
Ryder Jackson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 238 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Jackson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Mccleary, who gained 113 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, St. Helens took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 47-6 win over Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts. The victory was just what St. Helens needed coming off of a 47-14 defeat in their prior game.
St. Helens can attribute much of their success to Aaron Liebelt, who threw for 157 yards and five touchdowns.
Seaside is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for St. Helens, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3.
Seaside strolled past St. Helens in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 32-16. Does Seaside have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Helens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
