Baseball Recap: San Luis Obispo Classical Academy Takes a Loss

San Luis Obispo Classical Academy lost against Orcutt Academy back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Grizzlies came up short against the Spartans, falling 12-6. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Calvin Bischoff was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Bischoff was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

Bischoff wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Olsen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. William Diffenbaugh also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

San Luis Obispo Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Orcutt Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 4-10 record.

Coincidentally, San Luis Obispo Classical Academy and Orcutt Academy will both be playing Coast Union the next time they take the field. The Grizzlies will host the Broncos at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
