It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Davidson had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Morehead Panthers 4-3. The victory was nothing new for the Dragons as they're now sitting on six straight.
Carson Correll was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Tyson Walters, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
West Davidson's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Morehead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.
Coming up, West Davidson will take on West Stanly on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dragons 3.9, the Colts 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Morehead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
