Softball Game Preview: Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints vs. Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles

Mount Juliet Christian Academy is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Donelson Christian Academy, falling 21-0.

Meanwhile, Ezell-Harding Christian can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past Clarksville Academy 12-2. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kaylah Boldin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off four doubles, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-5. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lillian Spears, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those hits were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lynae Lawrence, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Ezell-Harding Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Mount Juliet Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-7.
