Basketball Recap: St. Elizabeth's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, St. Elizabeth couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost to the Chadwick Cardinals on the road by a 72-53 margin on Saturday. The Hornets' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Loss or not, St. Elizabeth got some senior leadership from Gavin Williams and Nick Heckemeyer. Williams posted 12 points and three steals, while Heckemeyer went 5-for-10 to rack up 16 points. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. Noah Chipman was another key player, putting up ten points.

St. Elizabeth's defeat dropped their record down to 22-10. As for Chadwick, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.

As of now, neither St. Elizabeth nor Chadwick have any future games scheduled.
