Basketball Recap: Albert Lea Comes Up Short

Albert Lea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Mankato West Scarlets, falling 57-21. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 75-36 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Albert Lea's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Mankato West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

Albert Lea is taking a road trip to challenge Red Wing at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Red Wing knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Albert Lea likes a good challenge. As for Mankato West, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Owatonna at 7:30 p.m. Owatonna will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Mankato West surely won't give up without a fight.
