Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson County Tigers vs. Community Christian Chargers

The Jefferson County Tigers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Community Christian Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Jefferson County and 12 for Community Christian dating back to last season.

Jefferson County is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Lafayette on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Jefferson County lost 78-52 to Lafayette.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Xavier Miller, who posted 20 points. Carlos McBride was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Meanwhile, Community Christian lost to Community Leadership Academy at home by a 67-51 margin on Thursday. The Chargers were down 57-37 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Jefferson County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Jefferson County beat Community Christian 67-54 when the teams last played back in January of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
