Softball Recap: Twin Valley Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Twin Valley came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Exeter Township Eagles a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Erin Cromwell's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maggie Krall, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella Herbst, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Twin Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Exeter Township only posted a batting average of .167.

Twin Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Exeter Township, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Twin Valley will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Fleetwood at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 2.2, the Tigers 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Exeter Township, they will face off against Conrad Weiser at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
