Soccer Game Preview: Beardstown vs. Litchfield

The Beardstown Tigers will head out to take on the Litchfield Purple Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Beardstown's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Beardstown was handed a seven-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Macomb a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Beardstown were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Litchfield entered their tilt with Pana on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 4-0 win. Considering Litchfield have won seven matchups by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Beardstown's record now sits at 4-2-1. As for Litchfield, their record is now 8-1-1.

Beardstown suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Litchfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
