Softball Recap: Houston County Comes Up Short

Houston County fell victim to McEwen and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Brilee Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Houston County's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for McEwen, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3-1.

Coming up, Houston County will take on Clarksville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for McEwen, they will square off against McKenzie at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
