Baseball Game Preview: Dillon Christian Warriors vs. Fairmont Golden Tornadoes

Dillon Christian hasn't had much luck against Fairmont recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Dillon Christian Warriors will challenge the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. Dillon Christian has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Dillon Christian is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Pee Dee Academy, falling 14-2.

Dillon Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gray Easterling, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave Easterling a new career-high in hits.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Fairmont and West Columbus, and Fairmont kept the tradition alive. Fairmont fell just short of West Columbus by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Tornadoes have lost by exactly two runs.

Dillon Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Fairmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Dillon Christian couldn't quite finish off Fairmont in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can Dillon Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
