Volleyball Game Preview: Santana Sultans vs. Helix Highlanders

Santana hasn't had much luck against Helix recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Santana will head out on the road to face off against Helix at 6:30 p.m. Santana will be strutting in after a victory while Helix will be coming in after a defeat.

Santana took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Morse as Santana made off with a 3-0 win. The Sultans not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th.

Santana's got stronger as the match went on, holding Morse to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Helix entered their match against El Cajon Valley on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Helix came up short against El Cajon Valley, falling 3-0. Highlanders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Braves since on Tuesday.

While Helix was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-18.

Helix's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Santana, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Santana might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Helix in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Santana avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
