Football Recap: Southwest Florida Christian Starts off Right with Win over Palmetto Ridge + How To Watch

Southwest Florida Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Palmetto Ridge Bears to the tune of 49-14. The King's pushed the score to 42-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bears had little chance of recovering from.

Southwest Florida Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Austin Hill, who threw for 341 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt. The dominant performance also gave Hill a new career-high in passer rating (127.1). Southwest Florida Christian's leading receiver Terrence Simmons was Hill's top target yet again, picking up 194 receiving yards and one score.

Southwest Florida Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kru Voltz and Craighan Mitchell.

Palmetto Ridge is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Southwest Florida Christian is taking a road trip to challenge Sarasota Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the King's surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palmetto Ridge, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ida Baker at 7:30 p.m.
