Softball Game Preview: Van Buren Black Knights vs. Ada Bulldogs

The Van Buren Black Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Ada Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Van Buren didn't have quite enough to beat Lakota and fell 4-3.

Meanwhile, Ada came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ada's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Van Buren, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Van Buren skirted past Ada 7-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Black Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
