At the plate, Kaiden Pan was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Korba, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Leigh beat Bret Harte 9-4 on Saturday.
Cooper Low made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Low was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Tyler Wagner looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
Back at the plate, Justin Jeong and Michael Mogannam did most of the damage at the plate: Jeong scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Mogannam scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Willow Glen has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Leigh, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Willow Glen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Leigh struggles in that department as they've averaged .419. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
