Recap: Centaurus Warriors vs. Steamboat Springs Sailors
The Centaurus Warriors's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They secured a 60-55 W over Steamboat Springs. The win was just what Centaurus needed coming off of a 72-43 defeat in their prior game.
Several Sailors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Kolb, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Kolb scored 15 or more points. Jeffrey Sturges was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists.
Centaurus' victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Steamboat Springs, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centaurus will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greeley West at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Hopefully Greeley West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Saturday. Steamboat Springs won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lewis-Palmer at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Lewis-Palmer has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 388 points over their last six contests.
