Volleyball Recap: Independence Gets the Win

While Independence's win against Oak Grove wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Independence 76ers had just enough and edged out the Oak Grove Eagles 3-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the 76ers have posted since April 16, 2024.

Independence had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 17-25, 26-24, 25-18, 15-13.

Independence's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Oak Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Independence will take on Santa Clara at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Independence is facing Santa Clara at the right time seeing as Santa Clara is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Oak Grove, they are taking a road trip to square off against Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
