Spring Lake won against Hamilton last Friday with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Lakers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Allendale Falcons 49-20. Given the Lakers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Falcons are ranked 267th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Spring Lake got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Herrema out in front who rushed for 125 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Tyler Bolhuis also helped out as he racked up 112 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Spring Lake was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Allendale only rushed for 58.

Spring Lake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brody Boodt and Owen Smies.

Despite the loss, Allendale still got an impressive performance from Marquel Harris, who picked up 141 receiving yards and one score. That receiving touchdown marked the first that Harris has hauled in this season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Spring Lake, bringing their record up to 6-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25 points. As for Allendale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

As of now, neither Spring Lake nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
