Baseball Recap: South Brunswick Vikings vs. South River Rams
South Brunswick had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 2-17 to make it 11. They lost 13-1 to the South River Rams. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.
As for South River, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The result was nothing new for South River, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
For South River's part, they got a big performance out of Hunter Krainski, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Sebastian Deerson was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Coming up, South Brunswick will challenge West Windsor-Plainsboro North at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South River, they will face off against Princeton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
