Football Game Preview: Venice Indians vs. Lake Mary Rams + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Darryon Jones and Noah Grubbs are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Venice Indians are taking a road trip to face off against the Lake Mary Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Venice comes in on six and Lake Mary on five.

Venice is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Sumner with points to spare, taking the game 41-22. The Indians pushed the score to 34-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Stingrays cut but never quite recovered from.

Dorian 'Macho' Jones produced another solid performance rushing for 168 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, while also picking up 35 receiving yards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102 rushing yards per game. Another back making a difference was John Ford, who rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Lake Mary faced DeLand in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Rams walked away with a 40-31 win over the Bulldogs.

Venice better keep an eye on Barrett Schulz. He was instrumental in Lake Mary's win, picking up 157 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Those 157 receiving yards gave Schulz a new career-high.

Venice's record now sits at 9-3. As for Lake Mary, their record is now 10-3.
