Volleyball Game Preview: Parkway West Longhorns vs. Parkway Central Colts

The Parkway West Longhorns are taking a road trip to challenge the Parkway Central Colts at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Parkway West didn't have quite enough to beat Rockwood Summit and fell 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Parkway West sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-27, 25-12, 23-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Parkway Central had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Cougars 3-0.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 26-24, 25-20.

Parkway Central pushed their record up to 17-5-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Parkway West, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Parkway West has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4 aces per game. However, it's not like Parkway Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Parkway West might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Parkway Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Longhorns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
