Softball Recap: Moravia Blue Devils vs. Southern Cayuga Chiefs
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Moravia and Southern Cayuga have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Chiefs 8-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 on Monday.

Emily Austin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Lashley Heredia Castio was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Moravia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Moravia's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Southern Cayuga, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moravia will venture away from home to face off against Groton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southern Cayuga, they will face off against Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
