Baseball Recap: Westlake Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Westlake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Thousand Oaks Lancers 8-7. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Westlake got a great performance from Dylan Ramsey as he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Joey Moore was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Mason Berlinger was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Westlake pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Thousand Oaks, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Westlake will square off against Oaks Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Thousand Oaks, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Newbury Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
